I appreciate where you’re coming from but it’s so hard to see past all of the wrongs the country has committed. Knowing all the hurt that the United States has inflicted on the rest of the world — political coups and meddling in the elections of sovereign nations, mass bombings and bloodshed through endless wars, pushing neoliberalism through handshakes or guns — it’s all a bit too much and I honestly look forward to the country’s collapse, much like, I’m sure, my own parents felt during the collapse of the Soviet Union and my grandparents during the death of the British Empire.
